Mango House Restaurant + Bar is the central meeting point in Lanta Old Town

Lanta Old Town offers an extensive variety of cuisines to suit everyone’s tastes. In fact, Old Town has just about the best selection of great restaurants, bars and lounges assembled in one area on the entire island.

Pegged as having one of Thailand’s best BBQ burger and real western-style breakfasts, Mango House Cafe & Bar offers fresh roasted specialty coffees and a great selection of international wines and beers. Established in 2005, the café is located in a 70-year old Chinese wooden shop house that once served as a legal Opium Den for locals.

The restaurant also features real house parties with international DJs during the annual Lanta Lanta Festival in march. Their new seafront lounge, ‘The Red Room’, will open in Feb 2011.

From delicious traditional Poo Pad Pang Curry {Indian style crab curry} at Beautiful Restaurant to tasty seafood dishes at Fresh Restaurant – for which Thai cuisine is deservedly famous – you’ll find plenty of mouthwateringly good places to eat in Lanta Old Town. There’s also a good selection of international cuisine recipes to be found.

Jeap’s homemade cinnamon rolls at Hammock House are just one of the tasty treats she can often be found to be cooking up. Nong Jeab (left) has nice, sweet buns and makes some of the best chocolate brownies in Thailand!
