Have you ever thought what it would be like to retire and go on a world cruise aboard your own sailing yacht? For many people it is a dream that will never be realised but for the few, it is everything they ever dreamed it would be.
Choices…
When you live-aboard, every morning starts with a choice… what shall I do today? Maybe we could go for a sail around these beautiful islands, maybe I’ll go for a swim or take the kayak over to the cave, Shall we have a bbq for lunch? I think I’ll go fishing this afternoon, then again, maybe I’ll just relax on board, listen to some music and have a couple of beers. What are you going to do?
The Khulula Experience brings you these same choices…
We’ll pick you up from your resort or hotel in an air-conditioned mini-bus and bring you Lanta Old Town where you’ll be greeted aboard ‘Khulula’ for your unique experience. Your host will show you around the yacht as the crew prepare to hoist the sails for the relaxing sail over to Ko Talabeng. This usually takes about 1-1/2 hours depending on the wind (or engine if there is none) and you’ll have ample opportunity to discuss the day ahead while enjoying fresh fruit and ice cold drinks. (or tea/coffee if you prefer)
Kayaks, Longtail and RIB
Once we arrive at Ko Talabeng your choices expand. We have 2 kayaks, a comfortable and quiet traditional longtail, and an 8 person Rigid inflatable with a 15hp outboard.

Lunchtime brings a feast of a BBQ, accompanied by Western and Thai salads, home-made bread, and various other dishes, all served in a buffet style so you can pick and choose as you like.

‘Khulula’ cocktails, water and other soft drinks are included in the trip price while beer, wine and other cocktails are available at reasonable prices.

shade, and of course the bar. At around 3pm we’ll hoist the sails again for the gentle sail through the islands back to Old Town, where you’ll have time to stroll along the main street before your air-conditioned mini-bus takes you back to your resort.

The Khulula Experience.
Khulula
Khulula is a 50′ steel Colin Archer cutter and is very spacious above and below decks. There are cushioned seats both in the sun and in the shade, an electric flush toilet, and a deck shower. We carry all the equipment needed for the trip, all safety gear, first aid kit and the boat is licenced and insured for up to 18 passengers.
The Crew.
The Captain, Khun Yod, lives on the nearby island of Ko Por and has been on the water all of his life, first with fishing, then doing longtail trips for tourists and now aboard Khulula. Khun Yod is a qualified Captain and Engineer and is assisted by Daw, the boat boy.
Your hosts are Graeme or Steve who both have extensive worldwide sailing experience and more than 15 years in marine tourism. We are assisted by Khun Non & Khun Pla who will look after food and drinks for you.

The price includes;
The trip and all equipment, resorts transfers (air-con), Tea, coffee, water, other soft drinks, Khulula cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), insurance.
Beer, wine, and other alcoholic drinks are available from the on-board bar at reasonable prices.
