Island Hopping by Luxury Longtail
The Sun Deck
Quite & Comfortable…
These are two words you would not normally associate with a Traditional Longtail boat! The ‘Longtail’ (Rua Hang Yao) is so called because of the long prop-shaft at the back of the boat. It was developed as a cheap means to provide propulsion using any available engine and thus help the fisherfolk to get to better fishing grounds away from the shore. So, traditional Longtails are fishing boats, with bare interior, little shade and noisy engines.

Spacious interior
Using our expertise in the marine industry and in marine tourism, we have taken one of these traditional fishing boats and turned it into something more suitable for quality day trips. We’ve added seat cushions and seat back-rests, a wide isle for easier movement around the boat, a stainless steel boarding ladder, sun beds and… an engine silencer!

Cruising

Relaxed pace
Your perfect day out starts with a transfer from your resort or hotel to beautiful Old Town on the East coast of Ko Lanta. We do all our transfers with a comfortable, air-conditioned mini-bus so you’ll arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the wonders of the cruise.
On arrival at Old Town pier, you’ll be greeted by the guide and crew of the boat before departing at around 9am. Shortly after the boat leaves you’ll be served fresh fruit and a refreshing, chilled hand-wipe.
We do not want to rush your experience, so we don’t rush around! We take a slow cruise down the shoreline of the neighboring island of Ko Por before setting off to the Southern islands at a slightly faster pace. On arrival (about 10am) 1 of the crew will leave the boat at Ko Ngai to prepare your lunchtime BBQ and the boat will take you to either Ko Maa, or Ko Chuek for some great snorkelling and even cliff jumping if you dare! (not always possible due to sea and tide conditions).

Snorkelling

Lots of fish
All snorkelling equipment is new and carefully cleaned after each trip and life-jackets are available for those who are not strong swimmers. Once you have all had enough you’ll be offered more fruit and another refreshing wipe as the cruise continues to ko Muk, home of the spectacular ‘Emerald Cave’ (Tham Morokot). On arrival at Ko Muk we slow down the pace to enjoy a cruise along the beautiful shorline until we arrive at the cave.
The Emerald Cave really is a ‘must see’ and is very popular, it is the only part of the trip where you’ll be with other groups. An 80 meter swim through the cave brings you to a hidden lagoon which is like ‘the land that time forgot’ It’s a real ‘WOW’ experience. Your guide will swim through with you and will take a flashlight and the dry-bag with your cameras etc. Life-jackets are recommended as the cave is quite dark in places and there can be a lot of people swimming through at the same time.

Emerald Cave lagoon

The end of the cave
After the cave, the cruise continues to Ko Ngai where your sumptuous beach BBQ awaits. Chicken or seafood scewers, garlic potatoes, a Mediterranean salad, feta cheese, olives, and all enjoyed with the spectacular backdrop of the surrounding islands. If you want to make it even more perfect we carry wine and beer on board at reasonable prices. Ice cold water is available at any time and is included in the trip price.

Cheers!
