Ko Mook

Ko Mook is located in Trang Province about an hours boat ride from Lanta Old Town. With the exception of a small sandy peninsula to the east, most of the island is mountainous. The only village, including a police station, a health center, 2 schools and 2 mosques, occupies this area of flat land and borders two beaches, namely Ao Klang and Ao Huanon. The north and north-west of the island has sheer cliffs dropping to the water making the coast impossible to walk.

A must see is the Emerald Cave. Its on the west coast of Ko Mook, it can be reached only by boat and has an entrance on the bottom of high-rising cliffs which is narrow but wide enough for boats to pass through during low tide. However, most visitors prefer to swim into the darkness and through the winding cave, a distance of 80 metres. While the sun colors the water in an array of green, emerald and turquoise shades at the entrance, the exit leads to an amazing hidden lagoon with steep cliffs to all sides. The cliff walls and part of the beach are densely covered with vegetation, often with over-sized

The remainder of the beach is covered in fine white sand leading to the beautiful lagoon.
